One of CSL's most rewarding contribution is its Marine Engineering Training Institute (METI), located in the Vigyana Sagar premises at Girinagar, Cochin, Kerala
METI is an institute with ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management System, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management System and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety Management System as part of CSL Integrated Management System.
The Directorate General of Shipping under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Government of India has approved the Institute. The DGS implements the shipping policy & legislation in coordination with IMO. METI has presented more than two thousand seven hundred competent marine engineers to the global shipping industry and the marine engineers are serving in different shipping companies around the world..
The GME course, approved by Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India, is open to Indian National Graduate Engineers in Mechanical / Mechanical & Automation / Naval Architecture only from institutions approved by All India Council of Technical Education or UGC.
Maximum age limit is 28 years at the start of course. Minimum qualifying marks are 50% marks in final year of Engineering graduation and also 50% marks in English either in 10th standard or 12th standard and to be medically fit.
Every year there will be one batch commencing on 1st of January. The duration of the course is 12 months and the course is fully residential.
