17 Sep 2026: Steel cutting ceremony of the Next Generation Missile Vessel (NGMV) for Indian Navy was held on 17 Sept 2026 at Cochin Shipyard Limited, Kochi. Rear Admiral Kapil Mehta, NM, Assistant Controller of Warship Production and Acquisition from Integrated Headquarters, Indian Navy conducted the steel cutting of first steel plate for Ship No. BY - 532. Dr. Harikrishnan S Director (Operations) CSL, Senior officials from Indian Navy & CSL, representatives from the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS), officers, supervisors and workmen of CSL attended the function. Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), signed the contract for construction and supply of six (06) Next Generation Missile Vessels (NGMV) for Indian Navy on 30 Mar 2023.
