Kochi, India (10/05/2024): Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), organised "Samsraya", an event aimed at fortifying safety standards within the shipbuilding and ship repair sector in India. This two-day Safety Conclave, was held on the 9th & 10th of May 2024. The programme was aimed at advancing safety practices in the maritime domain in India and exploring the possibilities to create a HSE frame works for Indian shipyards.
The HSE Conclave was inaugurated by Shri. TK Ramachandran IAS, Secretary (MoPSW), Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, who underscored the significance of prioritizing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices in shipyard operations. Shri. Madhu S Nair, Chairman & Managing Director of CSL delivered the welcome address. Shri. Pramod P, Director of F&B (Factories and Boilers Department, Kerala Government) felicitated the gathering and also administered the "National Safety Pledge". Shri. Harikrishnan S, CGM (SB) & Occupier explained the objective of the conclave and provided an overview of the various sessions included in the two-day programme.
The inaugural session was also attended by dignitaries including Shri. B J Ravi- Director (Safety) DGFASLI, Dr. S K Dixit - Dy. Chief Control of Explosives, officials from MMD, Classification Societies, delegates from Indian and International Shipyards, Indian Navy and officials of CSL

Chandru S Rajwani, RtedCEO of NKOM and CSC Shipyards, Shri. Saleh Albalushi, VP HSE – Dubai Drydock, Dr. T Vijayakumar, Shri. Sundara Vadivel, Asst. VP Group HSSE – Sembcorp industries, Singapore, and representatives from leading shipyards, Indian Navy and academia, shared valuable insights and experiences during the programme..
The conclave provided a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, aligning with the visionary objectives outlined in the "Maritime Amrit Kaal Policy" of the Govt. of India.
